Congressional Art Competition
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional District. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of District artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their District and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. For more information on applying for the Congressional Art competition, click HERE or call my office at (201) 389-1100.

Congressional App Challenge
The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code through annual District-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their District.

Students in participating Districts code original applications for the chance to be selected for recognition by their Member of Congress, win prizes, and have their work put on display in the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. The District-wide competitions take place from July through early November.
