GARFIELD, NJ — Today, November 18, 2022, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) joined the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, local law enforcement, local elected officials, and community leaders to help load 3,000 Thanksgiving turkeys for those in need throughout Bergen County.
“Thanksgiving is not only a time to come together with friends and loved ones to celebrate everything that we have to be grateful for, but it’s also a time to look out for those in need,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “It’s important to come together and — with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, the Inserra family, local electeds, and our great community organizations — find ways to give back to North Jersey and help those who may not be as fortunate. That’s exactly what we’re doing here today.”
1,500 turkeys will be donated to the Center for Food Action and another 1,500 turkeys will be delivered to food banks and other organizations throughout Bergen County.
Gottheimer was joined by Bergen County Commissioners Chairwoman Tracy Zur and Germaine Ortiz, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Inserra Supermarkets CEO Lawrence Inserra III, and local law enforcement.
