Tonight, Congressmen Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and Tom Reed (NY-23), Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, released the following statement:

Like all Americans, we were horrified and saddened by the attack on practice for the Congressional Baseball Game—a proud bipartisan tradition that brings together Members across the political spectrum for philanthropy and friendly competition. In these increasingly polarized and toxic political times, it’s more important than ever that Members come together across the aisle in the spirit of unity and cooperation.

As Co-Chairs of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, we know the transformative power of inter-party collaboration. Our Caucus, comprised of twenty Democrats and twenty Republicans, intends to continue our bipartisan leadership. We invite all of our colleagues to join us in looking for ways to work together constructively, recognizing that there is far more that unites us as Americans than divides us as Democrats and Republicans.
