“We must do everything within our power to fight terror, keep our country safe, and strengthen vetting for all pathways into the United States to make sure no one who wishes us harm has the opportunity to act on their hateful ideology. Like many Americans, my family immigrated here not long ago; my wife’s grandparents came to the United States after fleeing the Holocaust. So, we’ve seen that a blanket ban on any people undermines our national character and risks making us less safe by turning people around the world against us. I urge the President to reconsider and seek input from Congress on actions like these that fly in the face of America’s values and risk our national security.”
