TEANECK, N.J. – Today, Monday, June 3, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited the UPS Store in Teaneck to discuss issues facing small businesses in North Jersey, including his fight to cut red tape and lower taxes to help entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes grow, create jobs, and expand the economy.

Gottheimer also discussed his fight to fully reinstate the SALT deduction without raising individual rates, to utilize the charitable deduction, to invest in the nation’s infrastructure, and to halt New York’s proposed congestion tax. All these issues directly affect North Jersey’s many businesses, including the UPS Store, and impacts their ability to operate efficiently and to create good jobs.

Gottheimer was joined by the Teaneck UPS Store’s franchisee and local entrepreneur, Sam Roney, who was born and raised in Teaneck and who is now the NY-NJ metro area’s largest UPS Store franchise owner.

“There is nothing small about the impact of small businesses on the North Jersey economy. They’re where the jobs are, and they’re key to strong economic growth,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “UPS provides great franchising opportunities, which is how so many people in this country get their first job or get their start in small business. In Congress, I’m fighting to lower our taxes, cut red tape for North Jersey’s businesses, and invest in infrastructure, so that businesses like the Teaneck UPS Store can come, stay, and thrive here.”

“Owning The UPS Store in Teaneck, our store has become ingrained in the community – with a variety of local small businesses, non-profits, churches, and synagogues who are doing business with us,” said Teaneck UPS Store franchisee Sam Roney. “I’m glad that Congressman Gottheimer is fighting to cut taxes, red tape, and to promote greater job creation here in Jersey.”
