Today, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), after his daily storm call with mayors, called on Orange & Rockland utility company to work 24/7, including overnight, to fully respond to the electric power outages in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaias.

Both PSE&G and JCP&L have had teams of lineworkers, working in shifts, 24/7 to help restore power to North Jersey residents.

“With hot summer temperatures and many families working from home, it’s very frustrating that O&R is not working around the clock — 24/7 — to restore power to North Jersey residents. Other utility companies have organized teams to work in shifts through every hour of the day to get electricity back up. I appreciate what every company is doing to get the lights back on, but we have far too many families without water and septic right now — including many seniors unable to leave their homes. We need to do everything we can, day and night, to restore their power,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5).

Gottheimer continued, “All of North Jersey thanks the many first responders, lineworkers, and other frontline public service workers who are continuing to work to address the aftermath of this storm.”
