WASHINGTON – Today, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) commended the House Ways and Means Committee and Chairman Richard Neal (MA-1) for bringing forth a package of tax credits and extenders for the Committee to consider later this week.

Gottheimer highlighted the package’s revival of the ability to deduct mortgage interest premiums through the end of 2020, which will provide our hardworking homeowners with well-earned mortgage relief, and the expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC) which have been instrumental in allowing families to save more of their hard-earned income.

“I commend Ways and Means Chairman Neal on reviving the Mortgage Interest Deduction and other tax cuts and credits for so many of our hardworking families and communities,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5).
