KNOWLTON, NJ – On Friday, January 25, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) brought together the New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, Knowlton Mayor Adele Starrs, and Mayor Kevin Duffy to discuss the issue of a possible rock wall along I-80 in Knowlton. There has been some back and forth between the towns and the NJDOT about the necessity of a barrier to prevent rock fall along a portion of I-80 in Knowlton.

“I appreciate Commissioner Gutierrez-Scaccetti and Mayors Starrs and Duffy for coming to the table and talking through a solution to this problem. No matter what the problem, you can’t fix it unless you’re at the table and willing to work hard to get to yes,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “This was a productive first step toward a solution for both sides towards a compromise that works for everyone.”
