Today, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a Women’s Roundtable focused on expanding opportunities for business leaders and entrepreneurs at ECG in Ridgewood, a woman-owned full-service firm managing meetings and events, executive education programs, and trade associations.

Gottheimer also announced his plan to expand economic opportunities for women in business based on three core pillars: 1) ensuring equal pay for equal work, 2) encouraging access to entrepreneurial tools: lowering taxes, expanding access to credit, and cutting red tape, and 3) providing education and training to prepare workers for the economy of the future with middle-skills jobs.

“Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the women leading our communities. The business leaders who joined me today in Ridgewood are trailblazers who have been critical to getting us where we are today as a nation and as a state. New Jersey now has more than 230,000 women-owned businesses, which together create more than 260,000 jobs — and contribute $45 billion to New Jersey’s economy. Yet there is still much work to do, so I hope that with the ideas and plans exchanged today, we can continue to fight the fact that women are on average paid 79 cents on the dollar compared to men for the same job,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5).
