GLEN ROCK, NJ – On Saturday, January 19, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) participated in a day of service project in Glen Rock with high school and middle school students from Glen Rock and Ridgewood before speaking at a social justice forum at St. Mary’s Church in Glen Rock. On Monday, January 21, 2019, Gottheimer helped out at We the People’s MLK Day of Service before speaking to the congregation at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Hackensack to commemorate Dr. King’s legacy.
“This is a weekend to celebrate and honor Dr. King’s incredible life by dedicating ourselves to serving our communities and doing all we can for those in need,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “It’s also an opportunity to remember that we must speak out when our Jersey Values come under attack. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to participate in service projects in Glen Rock and across North Jersey. I was so inspired by all the young people I saw out in our community and giving back and hope they continue to live these values throughout the year.”
