More than 124,000 homes, businesses without power

Tonight, August 4, 2020, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a call with Fifth District mayors following Tropical Storm Isaias which slammed the region today with heavy rain and winds. Gottheimer and mayors from throughout North Jersey discussed ongoing power outages, damage within their communities, and clean up efforts.

“Tonight, mayors and local officials from throughout North Jersey and I spoke about Tropical Storm Isaias’ impact on the Fifth District today. Many families throughout North Jersey are without power due to this tropical storm, and utility crews are currently responding and working to restore power. To all those working right now to help our communities respond, from mayors to first responders to utility workers, we thank you for all your efforts,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I hope all New Jersey residents continue to take the proper precautions and stay safe as our towns and utility companies respond to the situation.”
