Today, Thursday, November 28, 2019, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) joined volunteers in serving Thanksgiving lunch at the Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center.
“Everyone should have some turkey on Thanksgiving,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “This season is a time to be thankful for all that we have and to find ways to give back to our community and help those who may not be as fortunate, and that’s exactly what we were doing here today. Thank you to all the incredible volunteers, all the businesses who help support this cause, and to Director Julia Orlando for all the work she does for our North Jersey community.”
The Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center’s mission is to end homelessness by providing a full set of services, including housing, health and social services, a nutrition site, homelessness prevention, temporary shelter, permanent placement vocational assessments, shelter space for up to 90 adults. The Center also provides temporary overflow shelter space during the winter months.
Gottheimer was joined today by Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, Hackensack Deputy Mayor David Sims, and Bergen Housing Center volunteers.
