Gottheimer, Rose Commend New York School Taking Action To Address Anti-Semitism

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and U.S. Congressman Max Rose (NY-11) wrote to the leadership of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School (ECFS) to commend the school for acting to address anti-Semitic comments made by a recent guest speaker and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

“We acknowledge that ECFS has already begun to undertake dedicated programming designed to address anti-Semitism in the aftermath of the recent incident,” wrote Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) and Congressman Max Rose (NY-11) in a letter to the Head of School and Principal. “We also gather that the school has acted to make clear that it will not tolerate anti-Semitic or other hateful language. Finally, we are encouraged to hear that the school is evaluating its policy and procedures regarding outside speakers.”
