WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, September 21, 2022, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), released the following statement:

“The bipartisan Invest to Protect Act is about investing in good policing, and protecting our families and our officers. It will ensure that local departments, in New Jersey and communities across our country, have what they need to recruit and retain the finest officers, to provide training, and invest in providing mental health resources. I’m proud to have worked closely with Republicans, Democrats, and a broad spectrum of stakeholders to make real progress for public safety. I’m especially appreciative of the support and input from the National Association of Police Organization (NAPO), the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), and my Senate colleagues.”
