Today, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) swore in three members of the Washington Borough Council at the Washington Borough Municipal Office. Gottheimer swore in Ethel Conroy, and Chelsea DuChemin, and Josephine Noone.

“I was honored to swear in the three councilmembers today. They will all be important leaders in their community and in North Jersey,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Councilwoman Noone has been an excellent leader on the Washington Borough Council, helping lead the partnership with the Council and the Borough’s business improvement district to keep and attract more jobs to the community. Councilwoman Conroy brings more than 25 years of experience as an auditor to the council, ensuring taxpayer dollars are being spent effectively. Councilwoman DuChemin has brought the community together through her involvement with the Washington Borough Public Library and has turned it into a cornerstone of the community. I know that Mayor Higgins and the council will do an excellent job working for Washington Borough families. They have all been entrusted with the most fundamental things that make our communities work: fighting to keep our taxes down, ensuring that our streets are paved, that our first responders have what they need to protect themselves and our families, and keeping our air and water clean. It’s a tall order, but I know that they are all up to the task and I’m grateful for their service.”

Gottheimer’s office hosts weekly office hours at his District Office and Constituent Service Center in Washington Borough. At the office, trained constituent service representatives and caseworkers provide assistance on issues including veterans’ benefits, Social Security and Medicare issues, health care issues, infrastructure, and federal grant applications that claw back the federal taxpayer dollars we send to Washington, DC.
