This weekend, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) congratulated 125 new firefighters at the Firefighter One Program graduation at the Bergen County Law & Public Safety Institute in Mahwah.

At a ceremony at the Bergen County Technical Schools, the graduates completed the Firefighter One Program, a curriculum of 56 lessons, twice a week, for both career and volunteer firefighters.

“Congratulations to our 125 new firefighters. Thank you for having our backs. We will always have yours!” Said Congressman Gottheimer, “You all are about to step into big shoes. North Jersey Fire Departments are filled with real life heroes — men and women who fight fires and save lives every day. Firefighters are real heroes.”
