PARAMUS, NJ — This weekend, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) celebrated our nation’s Independence Day and took part in the Paramus Fourth of July Fireworks Festival with North Jersey families, veterans, and first responders. The festival featured live music, food trucks, games, and more.
“Ahead of our Independence Day — America’s 246th birthday — it was great to join North Jersey families, veterans, and first responders in Paramus, and have the opportunity to honor those who have fought and continue to fight to make our freedom possible,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Our Founding Father Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself, and your country more than yourself.’ That love of country and dedication to others is on clear display at this year’s Fifth District Fourth of July celebrations. It’s because of days like today and communities like ours that I know that our best days will always be ahead of us, here in the greatest country in the world.”
To begin Independence Day celebrations this weekend, Gottheimer held a ceremony to recognize the heroic service of local North Jersey veterans and honor them with Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins and long overdue replacement service medals.
Gottheimer was joined today in Paramus by Councilmembers Jeanne Weber, Maria Elena Belliger, Christopher DiPazza, Robert Kaiser, Ace Antonio, and Jorge Quintana.
