PARAMUS, NJ — Today, July 4, 2022, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) took part in the Paramus Independence Day Parade to celebrate the United States’ 246th birthday and honor all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country.

“As we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day and America’s 246th birthday today, it was great to join North Jersey families, veterans, and first responders in Paramus to honor all those who have fought  to make our freedom possible,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Our Founding Father Thomas Jefferson once said, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself, and your country more than yourself.’ That love of country and dedication to others is on clear display at this year’s Fifth District Fourth of July celebrations. It’s because of days like today and communities like ours that I know that our best days will always be ahead of us, here in the greatest country in the world.”

Gottheimer was joined by State Senator Joe Lagana, Assemblymembers Chris Tully, Lisa Swain, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, Bergen County Commissioners Tom Sullivan, Mary Amorosso, Germaine Ortiz, Steve Tanneli, Bergen County Clerk John Hogan, Paramus Mayor Rich LeBarbier, and councilmembers .
