ASBURY PARK, NJ — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer celebrated Jersey Pride2024 and spoke about uniting in support of the LGBTQ+ community and the importance of getting out to vote. This was New Jersey’s 32nd Annual Statewide LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration. It is the largest, and oldest, LGBTQ+ Pride Celebration in the Garden State, with attendance regularly surpassing 20,000 participants.
Video of Gottheimer’s remarks can be found here.
“It was an honor to join Jersey’s LGBTQ+ community for Jersey Pride 2024. Events like these are an opportunity to both celebrate the incredible strides we’ve made in terms of LGBTQ+ rights and recommit ourselves to action,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus. “We must stand together and ensure that no one rolls back the clock on progress. I will always have the backs of our LGBTQ+ community in Washington.”
Gottheimer was joined by Congressman Frank Pallone (NJ-6), New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin, New Jersey Senator Vin Gopal (LD-11), Assemblywoman Luanne Peterpaul (LD-11), Asbury Park Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn, and Neptune Councilman Derel Stroud.
