HACKENSACK, NJ — Today, February 28, 2026, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) honored Black History Month and joined with the local community for the Bergen County Black History Month Health Fair. The event brought together local organizations, health professionals, and families to promote wellness, raise awareness about health disparities, and provide free screenings and educational resources.

The Health Fair featured health screenings and wellness information on blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, women’s health, mental health, and more — helping connect families with critical services and resources.

“During Black History Month — and every month — we celebrate the rich history, culture, and countless contributions of the Black community to New Jersey,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “By doing so, we remind our nation that there is still more work to be done to create a more equal and just society.”

Gottheimer was joined by Reverend Dr. John O. Page of Mount Olive Baptist Church, County Executive Jim Tedesco, Bergen County Commissioner Tom Sullivan, Bergen County Commissioner Rafael Marte, and Hackensack Councilwoman Sonya Clark-Collins.
