HACKENSACK, NJ — Today, April 25, 2026, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a showcase of student submissions to the Congressional Art Competition at Two Bergen County Plaza. Gottheimer was joined at the showcase by high school artists who submitted work to the annual competition, along with their families, to view the submissions displayed in a gallery setting.

“I love this showcase, and it’s something I look forward to every year. With more than 89 submissions this year, this competition gives me an opportunity to take in how special and talented our community and youth are here in North Jersey,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I want to give a huge round of applause to all of our talented artists for being here and entering your art in the showcase this year — it takes courage to enter your work in an art contest. The works of art represent a diverse and energetic community.”

In total, 89 talented high school artists from across North Jersey submitted their art for a chance to have their work displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year. The artwork that wins second place will be displayed in Gottheimer’s Washington, D.C. office, and the third-place winner will be displayed in his district office in Fair Lawn.

Gottheimer was joined by Council President Annie Hausmann of Norwood, Mayor of Haworth Heather Wasser, Councilwoman Maureen Rozankski of Glen Rock, Councilman Zhi “Philip” Liang of Englewood Cliffs, Council President Jannie Chung of Closter, and Councilwoman Jill Orlich of Glen Rock.
