FAIR LAWN, NJ — Today, May 26, 2026, Congressman Josh Gottheimer joined community members, local leaders, and the Steinberg family to celebrate the grand reopening of Zadie’s Bake Shop, two years after a devastating fire destroyed the beloved Fair Lawn bakery.

A longtime North Jersey institution known for its kosher baked goods and family traditions, Zadie’s officially reopened its doors following an outpouring of community support and years of rebuilding efforts.

“Zadie’s is more than a bakery with incredible pastries, challah, cakes — it’s a cornerstone of our community,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “After the devastating fire, North Jersey came together to support the Steinberg family, and today we celebrate their resilience, perseverance, and incredible comeback.” 

Gottheimer continued, “Small business owners like the Steinbergs are what make Jersey such an incredible place to live, work, eat, and do business.” 

Gottheimer toured the newly reopened bakery, met with customers and local residents, and congratulated the Steinberg family on reopening their family-owned small business that has served generations of families across Bergen County and across the country.
