HACKENSACK, NJ  U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) took part in Mount Olive Baptist Church’s pastoral installation service to welcome the congregation’s new pastor, Reverend Dr. John O. Page — the seventeenth pastor in the church’s 134-year history.

Gottheimer commended the congregation’s strength, resiliency, and faith for selecting a new pastor after an extensive search. Dr. Page will follow in Reverend Gregory Jackson’s large footsteps as pastor.

“During our darkest days, we look to our faith and to each other to muster the strength not only to carry forward, but to become an ever stronger community. That’s what I feel when I walk through these doors,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Mount Olive gives me great hope. Dr. Page gives me great hope, and why we are all here to celebrate Mount Olive’s seventeenth Pastor in your remarkable 134-year history. Dr. Page, from your work with the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, your pastorships at Mount Moriah Baptist Church and Shiloh Baptist Church, to being Chairperson of We Got Next, we are honored and excited to have an esteemed leader of your stature as part of our community.”
