RIDGEWOOD, NJ — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) took part in the Ridgewood PBA Food Truck Festival for Pediatric Cancer Research, helping raise awareness and support for The Golden Lights Foundation — a 501(c)3 charity that seeks to illuminate the need for a more targeted approach to funding pediatric cancer research. The proceeds from the festival will go directly toward pediatric cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

The festival featured nearly a dozen food trucks, music, and more, and was organized by the Ridgewood PBA and sponsored by other local PBAs, restaurants, small businesses, and community organizations.

“Pediatric cancer has touched far too many families, including my own. That’s why I was proud to join our incredible community in fighting to stop pediatric cancer and find cures,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “By all of us coming together, we can help pave the way for New Jersey hospitals and great centers across our country to be leaders in finding that hope — not just for kids in North Jersey, but nationwide and around the world.”

Gottheimer is leading bipartisan legislation, the Fairness to Kids with Cancer Act, to increase federal investment in pediatric cancer research — so that we can invest in more clinical trials and save more children’s lives.
