TEANECK, NJ — On the second anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine War, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) spoke at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Passaic for their memorial service and candlelight vigil in support of Ukraine. Alongside New Jersey community members, Gottheimer mourned the innocent Ukrainian’s lives lost to Russia’s horrifying invasion and recommitted to standing united against Putin’s vicious attack on democratic values.
“I pray that those suffering in Ukraine find peace and that this senseless war waged by Russia ends,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), member of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus. “I’m hard at work — with colleagues from across the aisle and in both chambers — to pass critically needed humanitarian and security aid for Ukraine. We must show Putin that America is united against his unjust war against our democratic ally and stand up for the innocent civilians his dictatorial march is terrorizing.”
Gottheimer was joined by Congressman Bill Pascrell, President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America Passaic-Bergen Branch Marie Duplak, Clergy, and members of the community.
