FORT LEE, NJ — Today, January 6, 2023, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) administered the oath of office for Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich’s fifth term — the longest serving mayor in Fort Lee history.

“It’s no surprise that Mark has been entrusted to serve as the mayor of Fort Lee for a record-setting fifth term! During his sixteen years of service as mayor, Mark has helped create new parks and community gardens, invested in Fort Lee’s neighborhoods, and led youth sports participation to an all-time high. He’s helped make the streets of Fort Lee safer, works closely with the Board of Education to support FortLee’s students, and so much more. Mark never forgets that even the smallest of issues can be the most important issue in the lives of his residents,” said U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) about Mayor Sokolich.

Gottheimer was joined by Bergen County Democratic Chairman Paul Juliano, Fort Lee Municipal Chairman Marc Macri, Assemblywoman Ellen Park, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Bergen County Clerk John Hogan, Mayor Violeta Berisha of Fair View, Mayor Paul Kim of Palisades Park, and the Fort Lee Council.
