HACKENSACK, NJ — Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited Chit Chat Diner in Hackensack to meet with local owners and employees, work with their team, and hear firsthand from Jersey customers as part of his “Josh on the Job” series highlighting small, locally owned businesses across Northern Jersey.

Owner Gus Katsanos and Chit Chat Diner have been serving up classic diner fare around the clock in Hackensack, known for its famous slaw and its trademark “chit chat” conversation-starter cards on every table, making it a local institution and a popular destination for those passing through!

During his visit, Gottheimer joined staff behind the counter, swapping stories with employees and customers from across the community over a slice of cake.

“Places like Chit Chat Diner are what make Jersey so incredible! Special thanks to the hard-working folks who show up day-in and day-out to keep this small business thriving,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Getting out into the community and meeting local families is one of my favorite parts of this job — there’s nothing like sitting down with neighbors over a good meal. Chit Chat Diner has been bringing folks together in Hackensack since 2009, and I’m grateful to owner Gus Katsanos and to the whole team for keeping this North Jersey institution cooking.”

Gottheimer regularly visits small businesses across New Jersey’s Fifth District as part of his “Josh on the Job” series to hear directly from workers, owners, and customers about the issues impacting their jobs and their communities.
