Today, November 26, 2022, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) celebrated Small Business Saturday and visited three locally-owned small businesses in Ridgewood. Gottheimer was joined by Bergen County Commissioners Ramon Hacheand Germaine Ortiz, Ridgewood Councilwoman Pamela Perron, local business owners, and community members.

“In North Jersey, our small businesses do so much more than just offer perfect holiday presents. They are truly the backbone of our communities. That’s why I was in Ridgewood on Small Business Saturday to encourage folks to shop local for their holiday gifts! Our small businesses create good-paying jobs and support our local economies in so many ways. This Saturday, and every day, I urge everyone to support our small businesses by shopping local,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer NJ-5). “In Congress, I’m dedicated to working across the aisle to lower taxes, cut outdated and unnecessarily burdensome red tape, improve access to capital, unleash more economic opportunity, and create jobs — to continue making North Jersey a great place to live and do business.”

In Ridgewood, Gottheimer visited Ridgewood Coin, Treat Me Sweet Cookies, From Scratch, and The Table at Latona’s.

New Jersey has more than 953,000 small businesses, which makes up 99.6% of all businesses in the Garden State. 1.9 million people in New Jersey are small business employees, making up 49.2% of all employees within the Garden State.
