WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, September XX, 2025, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) returned from the Middle East after leading a bipartisan House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence delegation trip with Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) to Jordan and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

While in the Middle East, Gottheimer met with high-level Jordanian and Kurdish officials, and U.S. military and diplomatic personnel regarding both countering Iranian aggression and promoting peace and stability throughout the region. The Members discussed ways to strengthen support for counterterrorism operations to combat ISIS and Iran-aligned terrorist groups who target American troops and our allies. Gottheimer also met with American service members from New Jersey in Iraq to thank them for their service.

“In the Middle East, I met with our Jordanian and Kurdish allies to strengthen our shared goal of peace and stability in the region. Our bipartisan delegation reinforced America’s commitment to combat ISIS and Iran-aligned terrorist groups, support our allies, and keep Iran’s aggression in check,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. “In Iraq, I was especially proud to meet with our brave service members from New Jersey to thank them for their dedication to keeping our country safe.”
