WASHINGTON D.C. — Tonight, November 28, 2023, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) helped pass two pieces of bipartisan legislation to condemn the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, reaffirm Israel’s right to exist, and call for Hamas to immediately surrender and safely release all hostages.

On October 7, Hamas terrorists brutally murdered, raped, burned alive, decapitated, and kidnapped more than a thousand innocent babies, children, women, men, and elderly, including dozens of Americans. Terrorists in Gaza are still holding hostage nearly 170 babies, children, men, women, and elderly, including Americans.

“Our objectives are clear: to stand by Israel to get Americans and all hostages home, crush the terrorists, and provide much-needed humanitarian aid to innocent Palestinian civilians. Israel must eliminate every single terrorist responsible for the atrocities committed on October 7,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5).

Full text of H.RES.793, legislation condemning the Hamas-led terrorist attack on the State of Israel on October 7, 2023, and calls for Hamas to immediately and unconditionally surrender, cease its attacks, and safely release all hostages, can be found here.

Full text of  H.Res.888, legislation that reaffirms Israel’s right to exist, recognizes that denying Israel’s right to exist is a form of antisemitism, rejects calls for Israel’s destruction, and condemns the Hamas-led attack on Israel, can be found here.
