On Saturday, February 11, 2023, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) honored Black History Month and joined the local community at the Bergen County NAACP at their third annual Black History Month Health Fair. The fair featured health screenings and wellness seminars on blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, mental health, women’s health, and healthy food cooking classes to help close health disparity gaps through education and prevention.
“During Black History Month — and every month — we celebrate Black history, culture, the countless contributions to New Jersey, and remind our nation that we must all work together toward a more equal and just society,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “By coming together at the Bergen County NAACP’s Black History Month Health Fair, we’re able to support those throughout Jersey and help close health disparity gaps with education and prevention.”
Gottheimer was joined by Assemblywoman Shama Haider (LD-37), Bergen County Commissioners Chairman Tom Sullivan, Germaine Ortiz, Mary Amoroso, and Joan Voss, Bergen County NAACP President Jeff Carter, Englewood Health Clinic, New Bridge Medical Center, and North Jersey community members.
