RELEASE: Gottheimer Honors Black History Month, Joins North Jersey Community at Bergen County NAACP Health Fair

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — On Saturday, February 24, 2024, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) honored Black History Month and joined the local community at the Bergen County NAACP fourth annual Black History Month Health Fair. The fair featured health screenings and wellness seminars on blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, mental health, women’s health, and healthy food cooking classes to help close health disparity gaps through education and prevention.

“During Black History Month — and every month — we celebrate Black history, culture, the countless contributions to New Jersey. By doing so, we remind our nation that there is still more work to be done to create a more equal and just society,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “This year’s Fourth Annual Bergen County NAACP’s Black History Month Health Fair, is key to closing health disparity gaps with education and prevention.”

Gottheimer was joined by Bergen NAACP President Jeff Carter, New Jersey State Senator Gordon Johnson, New Jersey Assemblywoman Ellen Park, Bergen County Commissioner Chairwoman Germaine Ortiz, Bergen County Commissioners Tracy Zur, Tom Sullivan, and Mary Amoroso.
