RELEASE: Gottheimer Hosts Telephone Town Hall to Discuss Health Care Costs, Medicare, Social Security, Utility Prices, Affordability in Jersey

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last night, July 22, 2026, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a Telephone Town Hall with thousands of North Jersey residents to discuss his bipartisan efforts to lower health care and prescription drug costs, protect Social Security and Medicare, cut taxes, lower utility bills, and support law enforcement and first responders. Additionally, he spoke about his work to claw federal tax dollars back for Jersey’s hard-working families and businesses.

Gottheimer answered questions on lowering health care and prescription drug costs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, cutting taxes, stopping skyrocketing utility bills, and standing behind our local police and firefighters. He highlighted his push to cap the cost of prescription drugs, crack down on pharmacy benefit manager middlemen, and help millions of people lower their health care costs. He also underscored his commitment to protectSocial Security and Medicare for current retirees and to strengthen them for the next generation without cutting earned benefits.

“This Telephone Town Hall gave me the chance to speak directly with residents about the issues that matter most to North Jersey families,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I’m focused on cutting taxes and lowering costs to keep more money in your pockets.
