WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last night, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) hosted a Telephone Town Hall with thousands of North Jersey residents to discuss his Affordability Agenda for Jersey.

Gottheimer answered questions on how he is working to combat high food and grocery costs, tackle surging utility rate hikes, and expand access to affordable childcare. Gottheimer also discussed his efforts to stand up to the Trump Administration’s attacks on Jersey families, including fighting to protect seniors from cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security and ensuring veterans receive the care they deserve at the VA.

“My telephone town hall this week gave me the chance to connect with thousands of Fifth District residents. What’s crystal clear to me is that we need to lower costs for families and small businesses in North Jersey,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “That’s why my Affordability Agenda for Jersey focuses on cutting taxes and lowering costs to keep more money in your pocketbooks. I will keep fighting to combat rising utility and grocery bills, protect our seniors and veterans, and ensure that hardworking Jersey families have access to affordable childcare.”

During the Telephone Town Hall, Gottheimer was joined by Sal Valenza of NJ School Nutrition Association, Cindy Shields of Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ), President of NJ Advocates for Aging Well Cathy Rowe, Englewood Police Chief Thomas Greeley, and Rabbi David Seth-Kirsner of Temple Emanu-El of Closter.
