WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, July 19, 2023, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) welcomed Israeli President Isaac Herzog as part of a Congressional Escort Committee at today’s historic Joint Session of Congress. Israel is celebrating their 75th birthday this year.

“I proudly welcomed Israeli President Herzog as part of the Escort Committee at today’s historic Joint Session of Congress. The U.S-Israel relationship is bipartisan and unbreakable,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Israel, which remains the only vibrant, progressive, and inclusive democracy in the region, is America’s most important democratic ally in the Middle East. Our relationship is critical to protecting our national security, fighting terror, and intelligence collaboration.”
