RELEASE: Gottheimer Statement on Hamas’ Continued Violation and Failure to Release Shiri Bibas
NEW JERSEY — U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) released the following statement in response to Hamas refusing to release the body of Shiri Bibas:
“Hamas’ barbaric actions are again on full display. For more than 500 days, the Bibas family has been torn apart, living through unimaginable pain and suffering. Now, after losing 10-month-old Kfir and 4-year-old Ariel, who were brutally murdered more than a year ago, there is more tragic news. Despite what Hamas claimed, their mother, Shiri, was not actually returned.
This is a violation of the pause — Hamas must immediately release Shiri Bibas and every hostage.
No family should continue to suffer and agonize over their loved ones who were brutally killed and kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7. This includes my constituents, the Alexander Family of Tenafly. I will not stop fighting until Edan Alexander and every hostage is returned home to their loved ones.”
