BERGENFIELD, NJ – Today, Sunday, January 5, 2020, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) administered the oath of office to Bergenfield Councilwoman Ora Kornbluth, who is beginning her fourth term on the Council. Bergenfield’s new mayor, former Councilman Arvin Amatorio, as well as Councilman Buddy Deauna and Councilman Marc Pascual, were also sworn in today.

“Ora has been a proud Bergenfield resident for nearly three decades and was first elected to the Bergenfield Council in 2010, where she’s helped deliver two consecutive years of zero percent budget increases,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Ora brings to the Bergenfield Council her ongoing experience as the executive director of a local day school, Yeshivat He’Atid, and her work with CBS SPORTS and the National Football League, as well as her community experience with the Police Athletic League (PAL), the Zoning and Planning Boards, and serving on the Finance, Public Works, and Recreation Committees. I know Ora will continue bringing residents together so that we can learn from one another and put our country and community first.”

Gottheimer continued, “I’d also like to congratulate Mayor Arvin Amatorio, Councilman Buddy Deauna, and Councilman Marc Pascual for being sworn in today as well. Bergenfield is in great hands with Arvin, who’s been a part of this community for thirteen years, and brings his experience fighting higher taxes and service on the Public Works & Parks and Police Committees to his new position as Mayor and to keep Bergenfield taxes stable, improve our infrastructure, renovate our parks, and continue to revitalize the community and attract new businesses. Together, with Arvin, Buddy, Marc, Ora, and all of the Borough’s leadership, Bergenfield will continue to be a great place to live and do business.”
