ENGLEWOOD, NJ — On Friday, May 30, 2025, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) spoke to more than 160 students at the Moriah School of Englewood about his path to public service, his work in Congress to support our nation’s key democratic ally, Israel, and the ongoing rise of antisemitism in New Jersey and across the country.
Gottheimer also discussed the release of 21-year-old Tenafly native Edan Alexander and the remaining October 7 hostages.
“Talking to students like you, Jersey’s future leaders and change-makers, is one of the best parts of my job. Right now, in Congress, I’m focused on fighting to protect Jersey families and our democracy. As members of Congress, we take an oath to protect our country. Therefore, we must invest in our key democratic ally — Israel — in our shared fight against hate, extremism, and terror,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I will also fight to ensure Israel has the aid and resources she needs to protect her citizens. I will fight to combat antisemitism and call it out on both sides when it is spewed, spread, or promoted. Because, ultimately, I want to protect Jersey and make it a better place to learn, work, and live for all of you.”
