GLEN ROCK, NJ – On Monday, July 6, 2020. U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited the New Milford Fire Department to thank first responders, to view a brand new fire truck acquired by the Borough through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, and to discuss clawing federal dollars back to North Jersey to help first responders and help lower property taxes.
“It’s always a top priority of mine to ensure our first responders have all the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively, especially throughout this pandemic. I’m thrilled that the New Milford Fire Department has been able to acquire this new fire truck and that they’re continuing to work so hard to keep the community safe,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I want to thank the Mayor, Council, Chief Mury, Deputy Chief Birnbaum, Lieutenant DeCarlo, Captain Gerry Smithson, and the entire New Milford Fire Department for having me and for all our first responders on the frontlines who sacrifice so much every day to protect us all.”
