FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ —
U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited North Country Pharmacy in Franklin Borough, Sussex County — as residents were being vaccinated — to thank frontline workers and discuss ongoing federal investment in expanding COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

Gottheimer was joined by Vijay Parikh, the owner of North Country Pharmacy, a local independent pharmacy on Munsonhurst Road in Franklin Borough, as well as by Franklin Borough Administrator Deborah Bonanno.

“We owe an immense amount of gratitude to North Country Pharmacy and everyone throughout North Jersey who are stepping up to provide our residents with these life-saving shots,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “Continuing to expand vaccine distribution is the best way for us to get through this crisis and to recover, and it’s vital that vaccines are distributed equitably to all communities throughout the Garden State.”

On April 19th, New Jersey expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to anyone 16 or older. Gottheimer is continuing to work to ensure that more vaccines are distributed to New Jersey residents as quickly as possible.

In New Jersey, more than 6.9 million total doses have been administered, and more than 2.9 New Jersey residents are fully vaccinated.

Earlier this year, Congressman Gottheimer formally requested that FEMA create a large-scale vaccination site in New Jersey to expedite distribution to underserved communities. Following that request, FEMA opened a new Community Vaccination Site in early April.
