RELEASE: In Bergenfield, Gottheimer Celebrates at St. Patrick’s Day Parade Breakfast

Bergenfield, NJ – On Sunday, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) joined the Council of Irish Associations of Greater Bergen County for their breakfast celebration before the 44th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. 

The breakfast, a long-standing tradition that brings together community leaders, families, and organizations from across North Jersey, serves as a kickoff to one of Bergen County’s most beloved cultural celebrations honoring Irish heritage and contributions.

“I’m grateful I could join North Jersey’s Irish community to celebrate this American and Bergen County tradition,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “In New Jersey, St. Patrick’s Day celebrates the vital role the Irish community has played in shaping New Jersey, and their proud heritage continues to bring our communities together.”

The event recognized 2026 Grand Marshal Brian Clancy, as well as this year’s Aides to the Grand Marshal and Gunning Award recipients, honoring individuals for their leadership, service, and commitment to preserving Irish culture in Bergen County.

Following the breakfast, attendees gathered for the annual parade through Bergenfield, featuring local organizations, marching bands, cultural groups, and community members celebrating Irish pride and heritage.

Congressman Gottheimer was joined by Assemblyman Chris Tully, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur, Bergen County Commissioner Mary Amoroso, Bergen County Commissioner Rafael Marte,  Bergen County Commissioner Joan Voss, Bergenfield Mayor Arvin Amatorio, New Milford Mayor Mike Putrino, Bergenfield Council President Domingo Almonte Bergenfield Councilman Hernando Rivera, Bergenfield Councilman Marc Pascual, Bergenfield Councilman Thomas Lodato, New Milford Councilwoman Lisa Sandhusen, and New Milford Councilman Matt Seymour.
