GLEN ROCK, NJ — Today, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) released the following statement:

“Last month, I urged the CDC to prioritize the vaccination of educators and staff, with the goal of safely returning to in-person learning in New Jersey. I want to thank the Governor for today’s announcement of expanded vaccine eligibility for educators, school support staff, child care, and transportation workers. Every parent in New Jersey, including me and my wife, wants their children to be able to return to a safe and stable school environment. We must ensure New Jersey’s students get the best education possible, and help combat the youth mental health struggles brought on by the pandemic. Prioritizing our educators and school staff is paramount to making that a reality. This is a vital step to help reopen our schools safely and get our children back into the classroom on a regular basis, ensure that our teachers and staff are protected, and help get our economy moving.”
