NORTH JERSEY

NORTH JERSEY — Today, November 3, 2022, U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer released this statement following the FBI’s alert regarding a broad threat to synagogues in NJ:

“I am deeply concerned and outraged by today’s alert from the FBI. This is what happens after years of antisemitic comments from public figures, including, most recently, Kanye West, Kyrie Irving, and others.

I’ve been in contact with law enforcement, the Governor, and local rabbis and congregations.

I ask everyone to please stay vigilant and continue to look out for one another.

Last year, New Jersey had the second highest number of recorded antisemitic incidents in the country. It is up to us to stand up and fight back against antisemitism.”
