“During an incredibly difficult time for families and communities, it’s vital that we work together to propel American businesses forward, and that’s why I’m so proud to be recognized with the Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award. I’m committed to continuing my work to lower taxes, cut red tape, help keep businesses afloat and workers on payroll during this crisis, boost investment in infrastructure, and ensure workers are trained for twenty-first century jobs,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “While I do my best to advocate for pro-economic growth, pro-jobs policies, I want to recognize and thank the real job creators and backbones of all our communities: North Jersey businesses that choose to invest in our state and that create and protect jobs.”
“In these uncertain times with daunting economic and social challenges facing our nation, it is imperative that leaders in Washington are focused on propelling American businesses forward to create jobs and economic growth from the West Coast to New Jersey,” said Thomas J. Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “As we rebuild our economy, legislators must lead by pursuing bipartisan solutions that create jobs and promote a free enterprise system. I’m proud to recognize Congressman Gottheimer for his commitment to driving opportunity and prosperity in America’s workforce and on Main Streets in New Jersey and across the nation.”
“When I first met Josh, I’ll never forget him promising that he would do what’s best for the country and what’s best for the State of New Jersey, regardless of the party affiliation, and that his job is to produce something that’s good for the country and the state — and Josh has absolutely, without question, fulfilled that promise from day one,” said New Jersey Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Tom Bracken.
The U.S. Chamber’s prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to Members of Congress based on their votes on critical legislation to support pro-economic growth and pro-jobs policies, as well as their commitment to bipartisan leadership and constructive governing.
